Independent functional analysis (FA) and functional behavioral assessment (FBA)

These assessments are used to identify the function of behaviors, and the variables that maintain such behaviors in different settings. These assessments, when done properly and by highly qualified staff, often result in very effective intervention plans being designed and implemented.

Using such assessments increases the chances that the appropriate interventions will be implemented, thus reducing the risk of behaviors becoming more challenging or new behaviors arising due to ineffective, inappropriate interventions.
